"Engineering is the profession in which knowledge of the mathematical and natural sciences gained by study, experience, and practice is applied with judgment to develop ways to utilize, economically, the materials and forces of mankind."

The work of graduates in electronics may range from the development of new equipment in the laboratory or in the field, to operations, technical writing, customer engineering, and sales engineering. OSU offers two approaches to electronics. Engineering Technology emphasizes applications, whereas Engineering emphasizes the general, or theoretical approach.
